Melissa Brown's Original Gourdfolk - since 1991
Welcome
to the wonderful world of Gourdfolk! I began creating my Gourdfolk in 1991 in my home studio.
I made my first few Santas for a friend for her holiday party centerpieces. The folks who attending her party asked where
she got them, and well, the rest is history! In the few weeks before Christmas that year I received orders for more than I
could finish. Over the past almost twenty years (hard to believe) I have expanded the line to include many other characters.
Some have stuck around while others have had their moment in the sun and have been retired - like I was for the past few years!
I took some time off to attend to some family business and to explore ceramics, which I have come to love. I hope you'll take

Baby steps.
 So, I applied and got into one show. Claremont, California on October 23rd. It's a one day, low pressure, fun show to do.
Like I said. baby steps. It's been six years folks! If you're in Southern California I hope you'll stop by and say hi! I'll

 YEA!!!!!!!!!! After seemingly endless phone conversations with my new web host and Yahoo, it looks like my email links are

...still not working!
 So. I've been on the phone countless hours trying to resolve the email glitch on this website. I hope it's on it's way to
being repaired now. It takes a while to reboot the entire Internet evidently...I dunno they speak a language I'm not familiar
with. I just nod (even though they can't see me) and say okay, when will it work? The latest answer "in a couple of days".
We'll see. I'm busy making mugs!

The links to email me are not working...
 So, I spent most of the day yesterday disengaging from Yahoo and publishing this site on another server. I'm infatuated with
them and will tell you all about them when they fix the problem in a timely fashion. They tell me the problem should
be fixed by Monday...in the meantime, if anyone finds this site and wants to contact me before the problem is fixed, just
write me the old fashioned way...at melissabrown@gourdfolk.com...no link! Cut and paste, baby!

Has it been a month already?
Time flies when you're having fun! It's been a month already since I set out to publish this new web site. I've been really
busy making clay bits in my garagio (my garage studio). I planned on posting some of my Gourdfolk on this page before I published
it but had an epiphany last night...if I wait to photograph and list everything I have before I publish this I'll never publish
it! So, here it is. A simple and basic web site. A place to keep you informed and maybe list a few items for sale as
I can. I am planning on having a first ever open house on October 16th! If you're in the L.A. area and would like to
come by, please email me and ask to be put on the list! Thanks for looking everybody...I'll try to post to this site
